Your Colorado vacation should include an in-person introduction to the Rocky Mountains.  Hit the hiking trails to soak in beautiful mountain vistas and to explore some of our 6,500 acres of pristine wilderness. Let our experienced guides lead you to the top of Lactic Grande with beautiful views of the Fraser Valley while teaching you about the property’s history and local plants and animals along the way. Or make the hike up to our namesake “Devil’s Thumb”, a rocky outcropping perched above the Ranch, high on the Continental Divide.

Just minutes away you’ll find many spectacular hiking trails in the Arapaho National Forest, the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, and the second most visited National Park in the U.S., Rocky Mountain National Park (40-minute drive from the Ranch).  Our staff is happy to direct you to the best trailheads. Check-in at our Activities Center at Zach’s Mercantile for recommended routes.

Hiking is Available Year-Round (snowshoeing in the winter).
